Asha Tent House

Life here at Asha Tent House in Vijay Nagar is mostly about the daily grind. We are located in Indra Colony, which is a decent neighborhood. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep the tent supplies and the chairs stacked up high. Most of the time, I am busy checking the fabric for holes or making sure the metal poles aren't bending too much. Indra Colony stays pretty active, so there’s always people walking by and saying hello. It’s a small operation, really. Just a few of us making sure everything is ready for whenever it’s needed. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoons, making it quite warm inside. We usually leave the door open to get a breeze. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit cluttered, especially after a big job when everything comes back at once. We spend hours sorting through the ropes and the lights. Vijay Nagar has changed a bit over the years, but our corner here remains pretty much the same. We don’t have fancy signs or anything. People just know us because we’ve been here for a while. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and carrying things back and forth. By the time we close up for the night, my back usually aches a bit. But that is just how it is when you run a place like this in Indra Colony. We just keep at it day after day, year after year.
