Banti Tant House & Laite Dakorater

I run Banti Tant House & Laite Dakorater over at the Vaihali Nagar Water Box Choraha. It is right there in Subhash Nager, Ajmer. The name is a bit long, but that’s what we call it. Being at a choraha means there is traffic coming from all four directions. The water box is a major spot, so everyone around here knows the crossing. We handle both the tents and the lighting stuff. The light bulbs and wires are kept in a separate corner because they are fragile and I don't want the heavy tent poles to crush them. Subhash Nager is a good area, but it gets very crowded during the festivals. I spend a lot of time untangling wires and checking if the bulbs still work. It’s tedious but necessary. The shop itself isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of space, even the rafters. Sometimes it feels like the ceiling is coming down on us with all the gear stored up there. My family helps out when they can. We’ve been at this spot near the water box for a long time. The noise from the traffic never really stops, but you stop hearing it after a few months. It is a very practical life, just fixing things and moving them around. We don't have any polished brochures or anything like that. People just see the sign at the choraha and walk in. That is how we’ve always done it here in Ajmer.
