Verai Engineering (Amraiwadi)

Our workshop, Verai Engineering, is situated at 17 Gopal Patel Estate in Amraiwadi. We are right opposite the Baroda Express Highway, so we hear the constant hum of vehicles going back and forth all day and night. The Swaminarayan Colony is nearby, and many of the people who work here live just a short walk away. Being on National Highway 8 means it is easy for trucks to get to us, but it also means everything gets covered in a fine layer of road dust. The estate is a busy place with a lot of heavy machinery always running. Inside our unit, it is usually quite loud and warm, especially when we are in the middle of a big job. We have heavy workbenches and old machines that have been with us for years. We don't have a formal office space; the desk where we do the billing is just tucked into a corner near the main door. My clothes usually have a few holes in them from the sparks, and everyone here has calloused hands. It is the kind of place where we value hard work over anything else. We don't spend much time on talk; we just focus on the engineering tasks at hand. It is a tough environment, but there is a certain rhythm to it that we all appreciate after being here so long.
