Sumel Foundation

Sumel Foundation is located right in the middle of all the noise in Rakhial. We have this shop, S/F 210, up on the second floor of Sumel Business Park-7. It’s a busy block. We are in Block-E. To be honest, it’s just a group of us who wanted to do something useful with our free time. We aren’t some big corporate entity with a board of directors or anything like that. It’s mostly just us sitting around a couple of desks, trying to help out people who walk in off the street. Soni Ni Chali is a hectic area. We fit right in with the chaos. We started this because we felt like someone needed to step up in this part of town. Sometimes the air conditioning in the shop acts up. It gets quite warm, but we just keep working anyway. We deal with all sorts of things. Whatever the community needs that day, we try to handle it. It's not always organized. Sometimes we are just figuring it out as we go along. But people seem to appreciate that we are actually here in the building every day. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The other shop owners around us have become like friends. It’s a very local way of doing things. It's nothing fancy, just practical work in a regular office space. We like it here and don't plan on moving.
