We are based in Dayalnagar, right behind the RTO Road in the Warasia area of Vadodara. Our place is at A 37, and it’s where all the magic with the wafers happens. It’s not a huge industrial plant, just a local setup where we fry and pack snacks. The neighborhood is a bit crowded, and getting the delivery vans in and out of the street can be a real puzzle sometimes. We started Sista Wafers because we thought we could make a snack that was just as good as the big brands but more local. We spend most of our time around the frying vats and the packing tables. It gets pretty hot in there, as you can imagine, but we’re used to it. We use local potatoes and try to keep the flavors simple, the way people like them around here. There’s no big corporate board of directors here, just us making decisions on the fly and trying to keep the quality consistent. The smell of frying oil is pretty much permanent at A 37, and I think we’ve all stopped noticing it by now. We spend a lot of time talking to the farmers who bring us the potatoes, trying to get the best ones they have. It’s not always a smooth process; sometimes the crop isn't great and we have to figure out a backup plan. We don't have fancy marketing campaigns, just some simple plastic bags and a dream of being the go-to snack for people in Warasia. It’s tough competing with the big names, but we have our loyal customers who like our local taste. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out perfect and we have to start over, but that’s just the learning process.
