Silver Oak Skills Foundation

Our office is at 301, Om Shayona Arcade. It’s pretty easy to find because we’re right near Silver Oak University on the S.G. Highway in Gota. This part of Ahmedabad is always growing, so there’s always noise and construction going on nearby. We’ve been in this building for a bit now. It’s a good spot because students are always walking around. We mostly focus on skills, which is a practical thing people actually need. We aren’t interested in those long speeches about the future. We just want people to be able to do stuff. Most of us here have had regular jobs before, so we know how it is when you’re looking for work or trying to learn something new. The office isn't anything special to look at, just desks and some chairs. We drink a lot of tea and talk about how to get things done. Sometimes the lift in the arcade is slow, so we end up taking the stairs. It keeps us moving. We’re not some big national chain with a hundred branches. It’s just this one place in Gota. We like being close to the university because it keeps the energy up. If you’re ever around this side of the highway, you’ll see the arcade. We’re usually there till late, just sorting through paperwork or chatting with folks. It’s regular work for regular people and that's how we like it.
