Shukan Hospital

This hospital is right in the middle of the action at Shukan Mall on the second floor. Science City Road is always packed with cars and people going about their business in Sola. We occupy unit 246, and it’s a decent sized space for what we do. It’s funny being in a mall because you hear the music from the shops sometimes if you’re near the front door. Inside, though, we’ve got our own world. There are the usual hospital sounds—the beeping of monitors and the sound of the trolley wheels on the tiles. The staff is mostly local, so they know the area well. We don't spend a lot of money on fancy decorations or anything. The walls are a plain off-white, and the benches are the standard metal kind you see everywhere. It’s about the work, not the looks. We see a lot of people coming in for checkups or staying for a few days if they need to. The morning shift starts early, and there is always a rush to get the charts updated. During the rains, the mall entrance gets a bit slippery, so we have to tell everyone to be careful. It’s a bit of a maze to find us the first time, but once you know the 2nd floor, it’s easy. It’s just a local hospital trying to keep up with the daily flow of patients and the noise of Sola. We stay busy from morning until late evening.
