Our office is tucked away at 2-Satkar Society, which is quite close to Azad Society and Himmatlal Park in Ahmedabad. The pincode is 380015. It’s a residential-style building that we use for the hospital’s administrative and support work. It’s not the main hospital wing where the beds are, but it’s where a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff happens. We have rooms filled with medical files and insurance paperwork. It’s usually pretty quiet inside, except for the sound of the ceiling fans. Outside, you can hear the birds in the trees of Satkar Society and the occasional car passing by. We spend our days sorting through records and making sure the billing is handled correctly. The furniture is practical and a bit mismatched, but it gets the job done. We have a small area where we keep a kettle for making coffee. It feels more like a home than a sterile hospital environment, which is nice for a change. Himmatlal Park is a good area to be in, it’s green and mostly peaceful. We’ve been here for several years now. People sometimes walk in thinking it’s the emergency room, and we have to point them toward the main hospital building nearby. We just keep our heads down and get through the paperwork. It’s a steady rhythm of work every day. We’re just a small part of the bigger hospital team, working from this little corner of the city.
