You can find Shantamani Multispeciality Hospital on the 1st floor of the Shyam Shikhar Complex in Bapu Nagar. Being on the first floor means people have to go up the stairs, but it keeps us a little bit away from the noise of the main market downstairs. Bapu Nagar is always crowded, so there’s always something happening outside the windows. The complex itself is quite big, and we occupy a decent-sized section of it. Since we are a multispeciality place, we have more rooms than a regular clinic. There are different areas for different things, though the layout is a bit confusing if it’s your first time here. We’ve got some hallways that are a bit narrow, and the paint is peeling in a few spots near the ceiling where the rain leaked in once. It’s a busy hospital, so there’s usually a lot of people sitting in the waiting area. We try to keep the fans going so it doesn't get too stuffy in the afternoons. Most of the doctors here have their own small cabins. It’s a practical place, not meant to look like a hotel or anything. We deal with a lot of paperwork because of all the different departments, so the front desk is always piled with files and registers. It can be a bit chaotic on busy days, but we manage to get everyone sorted out eventually. It’s just how things are in a big complex like Shyam Shikhar.
