Our workshop is at 63, Shyam Industrial Estate, which is tucked behind the Zaveri Estate on the Singarva-Kathwada Road in Odhav. It’s a big industrial patch of Ahmedabad where you can hear the sound of metal hitting metal all day long. We do fabrication work, so there is always a lot of welding, cutting, and grinding going on. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and the air has that sharp smell of burnt steel. We take on all kinds of custom jobs, whatever people bring to us that needs a bit of metalwork. It’s a dusty place, and your clothes are usually dirty by ten in the morning, but that is the nature of the trade. We have been in this estate for several years now and have a good rhythm going. My brother and a few local guys handle the heavy fabrication while I deal with the measurements and the customers who drop by to check on their orders. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on the fact that we do honest work and stay in our spot. The Singarva-Kathwada Road gets a lot of heavy traffic, which is good for business but makes it a bit noisy. We just focus on the job at hand and try to get the pieces out the door on time.
