Polycab Wires Pvt. Ltd. is over at Hicco House on the 1St Floor, No. 771, Pandit Satwalekar Marg in Mahim. This building, Hicco House, has been here for ages and it has that specific feel of older Mumbai architecture. Being on the first floor means we hear a lot of the street noise from Pandit Satwalekar Marg, but you get used to the honking and the people shouting after a week or two. It’s a busy neighborhood, and there’s always something happening outside the window. Inside, the office is pretty standard. We’ve got stacks of files and boxes of wire samples tucked into the corners. The lighting isn't the brightest, but it works for what we need. We spend most of our time coordinating between the different sites and the folks who need supplies. It’s a lot of checking invoices and making sure the logistics are moving. We don't have a receptionist or anything; usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and says hello. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, so we have to be careful when we’re carrying heavy things. It’s a practical place for practical work. We eat our lunch at our desks mostly, and then get back to it. It’s just the way things are in this part of Mahim. We have been here quite a long time and the routine keeps us busy enough.
