Smt. Deviben Kumarbhai Jaykirti

Our office is in room 602 of the Sampatti building. It’s right near the Mithakhali bus stand in Navrangpura, which means it’s always busy outside. You can hear the buses pulling in and out all day, and there are always people rushing around the street below. Being on the sixth floor gives us a little bit of distance from the noise, but not much. The Sampatti building is a typical commercial spot with a lot of different people coming and going. We don’t have a lot of decorations or anything like that. It’s just a functional space with some desks and filing cabinets. We spend our days handling various tasks under the name Smt. Deviben Kumarbhai Jaykirti. It’s a bit of a long name, but it’s just what's on the door. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small group of us trying to keep things moving. Navrangpura is a good spot to be because everything is close by, like the banks and the post office. We usually have our lunch at our desks or go down to one of the small shops nearby if we have the time. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady work. We just focus on the stuff in front of us and try to make sure we don't miss anything important. It’s a plain, simple way to work.
