Shree Dwarkesh Furniture

Our workshop, Shree Dwarkesh Furniture, is on Dahegam Road. We are located near Vimalpark Society and the GEB Power House. The power house is a big landmark, so it’s hard to miss us. We have been making furniture here for quite some time. The floor is usually covered in sawdust and wood shavings. It’s a messy place, but that’s how you know we are actually working. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned showroom. If you come by, you’ll see us with hammers and saws. It is a lot of physical work, especially when we have to move heavy wooden planks around. We take our time with each piece. Sometimes the wood doesn't behave like we want it to, and we have to start over or fix it. That is just how it goes with natural materials. Most of the people in Vimalpark Society know us. We are just a local shop trying to do things the old-fashioned way. We don't have a computer system to track everything; we just write it down in a notebook. It’s not a polished operation, but it’s real. We usually have a bit of music playing in the background to keep us going through the afternoon. It is a good way to spend the day, making things that people will actually use in their homes. We just keep our heads down and focus on the wood.
