We are located on the first floor of Plot No 68 in the Mahalaxmi Industrial Estate. Being in Vatva means we are surrounded by all sorts of factories. If you are near Bombay Conductor, you aren't far from us. Our day is mostly filled with the smells of different extracts and essences. We spend a lot of time in the small lab area checking batches. It’s a bit of a maze with all the jugs and bottles sitting around. We handle a lot of paperwork because everything has to be tracked properly. It gets quite hot in the industrial estate, especially in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going. We have a small team here who manages the mixing and the packing. Sometimes a shipment of raw materials comes in late and we have to scramble to get things finished. We aren't a massive operation with hundreds of people, just a local outfit doing our part in the food supply chain. People call us up asking for specific scents or tastes for their products, and we try to get the samples out as fast as we can. The stairs up to the first floor can be a bit of a climb when you’re carrying boxes, but we’re used to it by now. It’s mostly just focused work, making sure the liquids are measured right and the labels are on straight before they head out to customers.
