International Alumni Of Yoga Therapists India Foundation

Up here in Shilaj, at Ayodhya Township, things are a bit quieter than the city center. We're based in Village Shilaj, out in the Daskroi area. The International Alumni Of Yoga Therapists India Foundation sounds like a big name, but really it's just a group of us who are really into yoga and how it helps people. We’ve been working out of T 31 for some time now. It’s a decent space, though the dust from the nearby construction can be a bit much some days. We spend a lot of time talking to other yoga teachers and people who use yoga for health. It’s mostly organizing meetings and keeping track of everyone who graduated from the programs. It’s a lot of paperwork, honestly. We have stacks of certificates and notes all over the place. Sometimes we wonder if we need a bigger office, but this one works for now. It’s peaceful out here, which fits what we do. We don't do much advertising or anything like that. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they know someone in the alumni group. We just sit here, drink our chai, and get through the list of things to do. It’s a simple life, and we like the community in Ahmedabad. Most of us have lived in Gujarat our whole lives, so we know the area well. We just want to keep the yoga community connected without making it too complicated.
