Dushyant & Daksha Patel Foundation

Our foundation is named after Dushyant and Daksha Patel. We are based at 11 Shantivan Society in Makarpura, Vadodara. If you are looking for us, we are right behind the Sussen Textile mill. It is a residential area, so it feels very quiet and calm compared to the industrial parts of the city. The house we work out of is number 11. It has a small porch where we sometimes sit in the evenings. We are just a small family-run type of thing. We do not have employees in uniforms or a corporate hierarchy. It is just us and a couple of volunteers who come by when they have time. We handle things as they come up. Most of the people in Shantivan know us by name. We have some files in the corner and a computer that is a bit slow. We spend a lot of time talking to the locals about their concerns. Makarpura is a good place to be because it is a mix of homes and businesses. We do not do anything fancy. We just look at what is needed in the community and try to help out. Sometimes we are working on education stuff, other times it is just helping a neighbor with a problem. It is all very informal. We have lived in Vadodara for a long time, so we feel connected to this place and the people in it.
