We are located at 11/Akashdeep Complex, right opposite Omkar Textile near the Memco Cross Road in Naroda. It is a busy intersection and there is always something going on outside our door. This business has been around for a while, passed down through the family. You can see the history in the way the files are stacked and the old wooden counter we use. We go by a couple of names, but most people around here just know us as the place to get their textile-related supplies and general hardware. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in with all the stock, but we know exactly where everything is. It is mostly us—the family and a couple of helpers—running the show. We do not have fancy marketing or a big social media presence. We just rely on the fact that we have been here at Memco for years and people know we are reliable. Some mornings are quiet, giving us time to sweep the front and organize the new arrivals, but by afternoon it is usually humming with people coming in from the nearby factories. We talk to the same delivery drivers every week and know most of our customers by their first names. It is a traditional way of doing things, but it works for us and for the folks in Naroda. We just keep our heads down and work.
