Concerned Action Foundation

Our little office is tucked away at 82/216 in Azad Society, which is a pretty well-known spot in the Ambawadi area of Ahmedabad. If you know the Ellisbridge side of town, you know it can get pretty crowded with traffic and people moving around all day. We have been here for a bit, and the building is one of those older types that has a lot of character, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. There is always someone coming in or out with some papers or a question. We don't really do the whole corporate thing with suits and big meetings. Usually, we are just sitting around the main table drinking tea and talking about what needs to happen next. It can get a bit loud because the neighbors are close by, but everyone in the society knows each other. Being in Gujarat-380015 puts us right in the middle of things, which is helpful. Sometimes the internet is slow, or the mail arrives late, but we manage to keep the Concerned Action Foundation moving along. We have a few cupboards full of old records and some plastic chairs that have seen better days. It is a practical space for practical work. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just greeting people who walk in from the street. It’s a humble setup, but it works for what we do here every day.
