Abad Timber

Abad Timber is located at 3 Abad Industrial Estate. We are right opposite Kashiram Textile near the Ranipur bus stand on the Narol Highway. Being out here in Narol means it’s always busy with trucks and heavy machines moving around. The air is always full of that sawdust smell which I’ve grown to like over the years. We have a big shed here where we keep everything. It can get pretty hot under the metal roof in the middle of the day. We usually take a break when the sun is at its highest. The highway noise never really stops but it’s just background sound to us now. We see a lot of people coming and going from the textile place across the way. Our yard has plenty of space but it fills up fast when a new load comes in. We do all the unloading ourselves and it takes a few hours usually. The office is just a small corner with a table and a fan that squeaks. It’s not a place for sitting around. We are always moving something or measuring something else. It’s a straightforward life out here in the industrial estate. We’ve been at this spot for a long time and the locals know where to find us if they need anything. We don't have a computer for everything, so we still write a lot of stuff down in big ledger books. It’s just easier for us that way. The dog from the gate next door comes by sometimes looking for scraps. It’s a busy, dusty life but it’s what we know and we're used to the heat.
