Aastha Hospital

Our place, Aastha Hospital, is on the fourth floor of the Aishwarya Complex. It is located within the Prakashnagar Society near the Jawaharchawk area in Maninagar. Being up in unit 403 means we actually get a decent view of the rooftops and the busy streets of Mani Nagar below us. The elevator in the complex is a bit slow and makes a loud creaking sound whenever it starts moving. We have a small plastic sign on the door so people know they have reached the right place after coming up. Inside it is a bit of a maze with different rooms partitioned off using wooden boards. The floor is white tile that we have to mop a few times a day because of all the people walking in from the dusty streets. Maninagar is a very crowded area so there is always some kind of noise coming from the market down below. We can hear the scooters and the shouting even from the fourth floor. We spend our time managing the daily appointments and talking to the folks who come in. It is a simple enough life for us. We have a small corner in the back where we make our tea. The furniture is nothing special just some old desks and chairs we have had for years. Sometimes the windows rattle when the wind picks up during the monsoon season. It is just a local spot for local people.
