Friends Handicrafts Exports is located right here at 37, K. K. Nagar. If you’re familiar with Sikandra, you know it’s a place where a lot of stuff happens. We have been in this building for quite some time now. It’s a decent space, enough for us to keep all our stock and handle the packing. We mostly deal with things being sent out, so there are always boxes lying around and tape dispensers going off. It’s a bit noisy during the day when the trucks are loading up. The office part is just a few desks shoved into the front room where we keep the ledgers. My brother and I started this after working for someone else for years. We figured we could do it on our own. It’s hard work and the hours are long, especially when there’s a big shipment going out, but we like being in K. K. Nagar. The local market is close by, so we grab lunch there most days. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. People who need to find us usually just call or follow the directions to the gate. It’s a practical setup. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure things are packed right so they don't break. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, but we just wait it out and talk for a bit. It is what it is, and we stay busy.
