Handicrafts Inn

If you walk down Fatehabad Road in the Tajganj area, you will find us at number 18/160 C. Handicrafts Inn is a place where we keep a lot of local handmade items. Since we are so close to the Taj Mahal area, we see a lot of people from all over the world walking past our door. The shop is filled with carvings, textiles, and little things that people have made with their hands. It smells a bit like wood and old fabric inside. We spend quite a bit of time dusting the shelves because the road outside can be quite dry. It is not a very large place, but we try to display everything so people can see the work that went into each piece. Some of the items have been sitting for a while, while others go out the door the same day they arrive. We do not use any fancy sales tactics or loud signs. People just wander in when they see something in the window that catches their eye. We usually sit on the small stools near the counter and wait for the day to pass. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for when the tourist season is at its peak. We have known the other shopkeepers on Fatehabad Road for years, and we often share tea in the afternoons. It’s just a normal shop run by people who appreciate the local crafts.
