Madira Bar

If you find yourself on Fatehabad Road in Agra, you know it’s mostly about the tourists heading to the Taj Mahal. Madira Bar is located inside Hotel Amar, right in that busy tourist complex area. It’s a place that sees a lot of different faces. We get travelers from all over the world who are exhausted from walking around the monuments in the heat. They just want a cold drink and a place to sit for a while. Then we have the locals who come in after work. It’s an interesting mix. The bar itself is pretty traditional. We don’t have a DJ or a dance floor. It’s more for sitting and talking. The walls are lined with bottles, and the bartenders know how to pour a proper drink without measuring it out like a science experiment. They’ve been doing this for a long time. We try to keep the temperature cool, which is a big deal in Agra during the summer. It’s not a polished corporate lounge. It’s a bit lived-in, and we like it that way. It feels more real.
