About Bansal Handicrafts Emporium – Art & Craft in Agra
We have been over here at Paratap Pura on M.G. Road for a long time now. The building is older, and you can hear the cars and buses going by all day long, which is just how it is in this part of town. Inside the emporium, we have rows of shelves that are mostly packed with different handicrafts we get from all over. Some days are busier than others, and when the sun hits the front window in the afternoon, it gets pretty warm inside. We usually have a fan going in the corner to move the air around. There are piles of things everywhere, from brass items to wood carvings, and it can be a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. I spend most of my time checking the inventory or just dusting off the pieces that have been sitting there a while. It’s not a very big operation, just a few of us making sure everything stays in order. Sometimes the deliveries show up late because of the traffic on the main road, so we just wait around and have some tea. It is a simple place, really. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights, just the name on the front and the stuff we sell. Most people who come in are locals who know where to find us. It’s just a regular shop where we do things our own way without much fuss.
