A.K. Exports

Out here at 393 Pashchimpuri in Sikandra, we keep things pretty straightforward at A.K. Exports. It’s a residential area mostly, so it’s a bit quieter than being in the middle of a big market. We’ve been working from this location for a good while. Dealing with exports means we spend a lot of time on the phone or checking emails to see where things are headed. It’s mostly just a few of us here making sure the packing is done right. Boxes get piled up near the door quite often. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but our daily routine stays pretty much the same. We start early when the sun is coming up to get a head start on the paperwork. Sometimes the courier is late, and we end up waiting around, chatting about the local news or the weather. We don't really have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One minute you're typing an invoice and the next you're helping tape up a crate for a shipment. It’s not a polished setup, just a practical one that works for us. We know our neighbors and they know us. Most of what we do goes far away, but our roots are right here in Sikandra. We just focus on getting the goods out the door without any fuss. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy.
