Rajkumar Fabrication

Our workshop is located on the third floor in Hukam Singh Market, which is right near Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Nangloi. Being on the third floor means we have to carry everything up the stairs, which is quite a workout every day. There is no lift, so we just get on with it. It’s a noisy place because fabrication work involves a lot of cutting and banging of metal. We don’t mind the noise, it’s the sound of work being done. The market is always crowded, and finding parking for trucks can be a real headache. We have a few guys who have been with us for years, they know exactly how I like things done. We don't use high-tech machines, just the old reliable ones that we know how to fix ourselves if they break. It’s a very hands-on job. We spend our days covered in dust and grease, but that’s just part of the trade. Sometimes we stay late when a job needs finishing, and we just order some food from the stall downstairs. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting area. If you come to see us, you’ll just find us working. We aren't looking to become a giant company, we just want to keep the shop running smoothly. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know best and it keeps us moving forward every single day.
