G. R. Metal Industries

G. R. Metal Industries is located at 7-A, Najafgarh Road, right in the heart of the Industrial Area. If you drive down Najafgarh Road, you’ll see plenty of places like ours, but 7-A is our spot. It’s a functional space designed for heavy work. We have a big gate to let the trucks in and out, and the yard is usually full of materials waiting to be processed or shipped. Inside the office, it’s pretty basic. We have some wooden desks that have been around since the business started and a lot of cabinets for all the paperwork we have to keep. The staff here are mostly local guys who know the metal business inside and out. We don’t go in for corporate training or fancy slogans. We just learn by doing. The noise from the machines can be quite a lot during the peak hours, so we’ve all learned to talk a bit louder than usual. Lunchtime is when things finally quiet down for a bit and we all sit together. It’s a straightforward environment. We deal with metals, we work with our hands, and we try to keep the orders moving so they don't pile up. It’s not glamorous, but it’s a living, and we’ve been doing it long enough to know the ins and outs of the industrial area. There is always a layer of grit on the windows, but that is just part of the job.
