About Swamy Carpenter Works – Furniture in Warangal
I’ve got sawdust in my hair most days. That’s just part of working at Swamy Carpenter Works. We are located at H. No -42 in Pandem, which is part of Gangaram near Kothagudem. It’s a quiet area mostly, but the sound of my saw usually wakes things up a bit. I started doing this because my father worked with his hands too. Wood is a funny thing; it has its own mind sometimes. You try to cut a straight line and the grain takes you somewhere else. I spend a lot of time in Warangal getting supplies when we run low on good timber. The workshop isn't very big, but it has enough room for my tools and whatever project I’m currently stuck on. Usually, it’s a chair that needs a new leg or a door that won't shut right because of the humidity. People in Kothagudem know where to find me if they have something broken. I don’t have a big sign or anything, just the work sitting out front sometimes. It gets hot in the shed during the summer, so I start early in the morning before the sun gets too high. By noon, I’m usually ready for a break. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy. I like the smell of fresh shavings and the feeling of finishing a piece after days of sanding it down by hand until it's smooth. It's just me and the wood out here in Pandem.
