Sarda Granites

If you are looking for us, we are right there near Raju Chowk, not too far from the SBH Bank here in Karim Nagar. The area is usually busy with people going about their business. We’ve got a good amount of granite stacked up in the yard. It’s mostly local stuff, but we get different colors depending on what’s coming from the quarries. Managing a granite yard is mostly about moving heavy things without breaking them. We spend a lot of time with the crane or just manhandling slabs so people can see the grain. Some pieces have more spots, some are more plain. People come by after visiting the bank or just while they are in town. It is a dusty job, and your clothes are never really clean by the end of the day. We don’t do much talking, mostly we just show the stock. If someone likes a particular block, we mark it with a bit of chalk. The sun hits the stone differently at different times of the day, so we tell people to look closely. We’ve been at this spot for a while. The traffic at the chowk can be a bit much sometimes when we are trying to get a truck in or out. It’s just us and the stone. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a small place to sit and talk. It’s a local shop for local people building their homes.
