Makanta Marbles

Our yard is located at Plot No. K-58/A, right on the Warrangal Main Road in Turrur. It is a very visible spot because of all the traffic that goes by heading into the city or out towards the villages. You can usually see our crane from the road when we are lifting the heavy marble blocks off the transport trucks. The site is quite large, which is good because marble takes up a lot of room. We have rows and rows of different stones lined up, some from nearby and some from further away. The sun can be really hot out on the main road, so we have a small shaded area where we sit when things are quiet. People stop their cars and come in to look at the stock quite often since we are so easy to find. We don't have any polished sales talk or fancy brochures to give out. Usually, we just walk around with the customer and point out which pieces have the least cracks or the best veins. Dealing with stone is heavy work, and at the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. We have a few guys who have been with us since we started, and they know exactly how to move the slabs without causing any damage. It’s a lot of physical labor and staying organized on a busy road, but we have gotten used to the rhythm of it over the years.
