M & M Stone Granite Quarry

If you head out to Chinnapendial in the Ghanpur area, you will find us at number 79. M & M Stone Granite Quarry is basically just a big open site where we do the heavy lifting. It isn't a quiet place by any means. There is usually the sound of machinery humming or the clinking of tools against the rock. We spend most of our time out in the open air, which is great in the winter but gets pretty tough during the hotter months when the sun is beating down on the stone. The ground is always covered in grit and small pieces of rock. We have a small shed where we keep our logs and where the guys take their breaks. It is a very straightforward operation. We focus on getting the stone out of the ground and ready for whatever it needs to be used for next. Sometimes the weather slows us down, especially when it rains heavy and the ground gets all muddy and soft for the trucks. We just deal with things as they come. There are no big meetings or complicated plans here. We just show up, do the work, and make sure the trucks get loaded properly before they head out. It’s a lot of physical labor, but there is something satisfying about seeing the raw stone being moved. We have been part of the Ghanpur landscape for a bit, and we just keep doing what we know how to do every day.
