About Sai Kant Pan Shop – Food & Beverages in Visakhapatnam
I run Sai Kant Pan Shop on the Chinna Wailtair Main Road here in Visakhapatnam. It’s a tiny spot, really just a small stall tucked into the corner near Pedawaltair. You can’t miss it if you’re walking down the main road towards China Waltiar. Most of my day is spent preparing leaves and talking to the regulars. It’s a very small space, so I don't have room for much else. I have a small radio that plays local songs while I work. The traffic is always moving past, and the noise never really stops until late at night. I keep some cigarettes, matches, and small snacks too. It’s not the kind of place you stay for long. You just stop, get what you want, and keep moving. The counter is covered in a bit of lime stain here and there, and the wood is getting a little worn down. I’ve thought about painting it, but I never get around to it. It’s a one-man show mostly. My friend comes by sometimes to sit and chat for a while. We talk about how the city is changing and how many more cars there are now. The heat can be a bit much in the summer, but the breeze from the coast helps a little bit. It’s a humble place, just a pan shop on a busy street. People know me, and I know them, and that’s enough for me. I keep my change in a small tin box under the counter.
