Neels Kitchen

Our kitchen is up in the Pent House of Natraj Towers on Street No 47 in Daspalla Hills. It’s a bit of a climb, but we are right beside St Lukes Nursing College. Being up on the top floor means we get a bit of a breeze, which is nice because the kitchen gets incredibly hot when all the stoves are going. We mostly see students from the nursing college and people who live in the apartments around Daspalla Hills. It’s a small space, so it gets noisy when we are busy chopping vegetables and washing dishes. We don't have fancy menus or table service like the big restaurants downtown. It’s more of a place where people come to pick up their food or sit for a quick bite on the few chairs we have. The elevator in the building sometimes acts up, so we end up carrying supplies up the stairs, which is quite a workout. We spend a lot of time in the mornings getting the ingredients from the local market and bringing them up here. The staff is just a few of us who have been working together for a long time. We don't really do much advertising; people just find us because they live or work nearby. It’s a busy little spot and we are always cleaning something to stay on top of the mess. The view of the city from up here is actually okay.
