Mother Teresa High School

Mother Teresa High School is right on Mani Road in Borigipetam. Being on the main road means there is always something going on outside our doors. You can hear the buses and the local vendors all day long. The school itself is a busy place with kids coming in from all parts of Borigipetam. We have a set of classrooms that are usually full from morning until the afternoon bell rings. The stairs are a bit narrow, so it gets crowded when the classes change. We have a small area in the back where the kids can hang out for a bit, but it’s not very big. The teachers are mostly local people who have been with us for years. They spend their time correcting papers and talking to parents who drop by. It’s a very practical kind of place. We don’t spend much time on decorations; we just focus on the lessons and making sure the students are behaving. The uniforms are the standard colors you see everywhere, and the bags are always heavy with books. On hot days, the ceiling fans hum constantly. It’s just a normal school where children come to learn their English and science. There is always a bit of dust because of the road, but we try our best to sweep it out every evening after the kids leave. We have a small desk at the entrance for visitors to sign in.
