M.L.S. Pan Shop

The M.L.S. Pan Shop is right there on Shivaji Park Road in Pedawaltair. If you know Visakhapatnam, you know how humid it gets near the coast. I spend most of my day at the counter, preparing things while the sun beats down on the road. It is a small shop, mostly just enough room for me to stand and a few jars on the shelf. People walking toward the main road often stop here for a quick break. I’ve been in this spot for a while now, watching the city grow around Shivaji Park. The fans barely keep the heat away during the summer months. I have to keep the water cold for people who are thirsty. The road gets quite busy during the evening hours when everyone is heading home. I don't really have a fancy setup, just some basic wooden shelves and the regular items you’d expect at a pan shop. Sometimes I get help from my younger brother when he isn't busy with his own things. We stay open pretty late because there is always someone passing by on their way back from the beach or work. It’s a quiet kind of work, even with all the noise from the vehicles. I like seeing the familiar faces of the auto drivers who park nearby. It's just a regular part of life here in Vizag, nothing too complicated.
