Govt Residential School For Visually Handicapped

Out in Sagar Nagar, the air feels a bit different because we are so close to the coast in Visakhapatnam. At the residential school, we have a specific way of doing things because our students are visually handicapped and they live here full-time. The building is designed to be easy for them to move around in, and we spend a lot of our time making sure there are no obstacles in the hallways. You can often hear the sound of Braille typewriters or students talking as they navigate the dorms. Since it’s a government school, we work with the resources we have, which means things are practical and simple. The staff here are very patient, and they spend a lot of time helping the kids with their daily routines, like getting to the dining hall or finding their books. We have a lot of regular activities, and even though the students can't see the ocean, they can certainly hear it and feel the breeze. The residential side of things means we are responsible for them day and night, so there is always someone on duty. It’s a quiet life for the most part, tucked away in this part of Vizag. We just try to make sure everyone feels at home and gets their lessons done without too much fuss. It is a lot of responsibility, but we just take it as it comes every day.
