Dps East School

Dps East School is tucked away on Telukala Street in the Chengalraopeta area of Visakhapatnam. It’s a very busy part of the city, right near the old town, so there’s always a lot of traffic and people walking by. Our door number is 20-117-10, and it’s a multi-story building because space is tight in this neighborhood. We don’t have a big open field, so the kids usually play in the covered areas or the corridors. Every morning is a bit of a scramble getting everyone inside before the traffic gets too heavy on the street. The classrooms are packed with desks and we try to keep the fans running all day because it gets very humid here in Vizag. We’ve been here for a while, and the building shows its age a little, but it’s sturdy. The teachers here are mostly from the surrounding areas, so they know the families well. We spend a lot of time on the basic subjects and making sure the students are prepared for their tests. It’s a practical kind of place. You won’t find much luxury here, just a lot of hard work and kids trying to learn their lessons. Sometimes the salt air from the coast makes things rust a bit faster, so there's always some maintenance to do on the window frames and gates. The bells are manual, so someone has to remember to go out and ring them for every period. We have a small terrace where the staff sometimes goes to get a bit of air.
