Ocean Bricks

Ocean Bricks is situated at 14-88 in V D Puram, which is part of the Bhavanipuram area. It is a pretty straightforward place to find once you get into the neighborhood. We have been operating out of this same spot for a while, and the address hasn't changed at all. It is a compact site, so we have to be really careful about how we organize the space. Every square inch of 14-88 is usually covered with something, whether it is raw materials or finished stacks ready to go to a job. The Bhavanipuram area can get quite busy during the middle of the day, so we try to get our heavy lifting done in the early morning hours before the heat gets too bad. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything like that, just the gate and the work going on inside. It is a lot of repetitive tasks, mixing and setting and moving, but that is the nature of the brick business. The neighbors are mostly used to the trucks coming in and out by now, though we try not to be too loud too early. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here, just making sure we have enough stock for whoever stops by. The office is just a small room with a fan and a few chairs for when we need to escape the sun for a minute. It’s a honest way to make a living and we appreciate the people who come to see us in V D Puram.
