Vallalar Ramalingam Nursery & Primary School

Vallalar Ramalingam Nursery & Primary School is a small place on Sagunthalalmmal Street in the Velapadi area of Vellore. Since we are a nursery and primary school the building is filled with younger children most of the day. It’s quite noisy because little kids don't really know how to be quiet but that’s the way it should be I think. We have classrooms that are decorated with drawings and basic charts for the children to look at. The street outside is a typical Vellore street and it gets busy during the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times when parents come on their scooters. The teachers here have a lot of patience because looking after small children all day is a big job. We have a small area where they can play during their breaks and it’s usually full of shouting and running around. The building at No 5 has been our home for a while and it’s a familiar sight for the people living in Velapadi. We don't have any big fancy equipment just the usual toys and books that primary schools use. It’s an honest little school where the kids learn their first letters and numbers before they move on to the bigger high schools in the city. Most of the families around here know us well and we’ve seen many siblings come through our doors over the years. It’s just a normal part of life here on Sagunthalalmmal Street.
