Steping Stone Play School

We've been here at No 90 Phase 1 in Guru Thoppu 5th Street for a while now. Most people in Sathuvacheri know the building. It’s not a huge place, but it works for what we do with the little ones. Some mornings it gets quite loud when the kids arrive. We spend most of our time just managing the energy in the rooms. There’s a lot of running around. Sometimes the floor gets messy after lunch. It’s just how it goes with toddlers and preschoolers. We keep a stack of toys in the corner. The street outside is usually quiet enough, which is good. We’ve got a few staff members who have been around Vellore their whole lives. We don't have fancy office furniture or anything. It's just chairs and tables for the children. Sometimes a parent drops by to ask how their kid is doing, and we just chat at the gate. It's pretty informal. The walls have some old drawings taped up. We try to keep things organized, but when you have twenty kids in one area, it’s always a bit chaotic. That’s life here. We just focus on getting through the day and making sure everyone is safe and happy. It's a simple setup. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. People just find us by walking past or hearing from a neighbor. That's how it's always been in this part of Vellore.
