Nalanda International School

You can find Nalanda International School over in Sathuvacheri, specifically on the second floor of the Karthika Complex. It is in Phase 2, near the other shops and offices, so there is always something going on around us. Being in a complex like this means we share the space with different businesses, but once you get up to the second floor, it is all classrooms. The address is No 249/23, and we have been in this part of Vellore for a good while. Inside, the rooms are set up for different grades, and we have some basic computer equipment for the older students to use. It gets a bit crowded when the parents come to pick up their children in the afternoon, but we have a system that works well enough. We don't go in for anything too decorative; the walls have some maps and student drawings, and the desks are the standard wooden ones. The teachers here are mostly local people who understand the needs of the families in Sathuvacheri. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure the syllabus is covered without too much fuss. Sometimes the lift in the building is slow, so many of us just take the stairs up to our level. It is a practical place where we just get on with the work of teaching and learning every single day for the local kids.
