Green Valley Public School

Our school is out here on No.1 Green Valley Road in Pallikuppam. It is a bit of a drive for some, but the area is quiet and away from the main town noise. We have a decent-sized space where the kids can run around without bumping into each other too much. The building is simple, mostly just concrete and paint that we touch up when we have the time and a bit of extra money. Since we are in Ramakuppam, a lot of our students come from the nearby villages. They arrive on buses or get dropped off on motorbikes early in the morning. We do not have any of those expensive labs or fancy sports fields you see on TV, but we have enough room for a good game of football or cricket in the dirt. The classrooms are filled with the sound of reciting lessons and the occasional bird flying in through the open windows. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we try to finish the heavy work before lunch when it is still a bit cooler. The staff here is pretty down to earth. We all know each other’s names and usually have tea together in the small staff room during the break. We don’t make a big fuss about things; we just make sure the kids show up, do their work, and learn something useful. It is a plain life here, but it works for us and the families who trust us.
