Radisson Hotel Varanasi

The Radisson Hotel Varanasi is tucked away in The Mall Cantonment area. It’s a bit different from the crowded parts of the city near the river. Out here, the roads are a little wider and there are more trees, which is nice. We spend our days managing the various parts of the hotel, from the front desk to the kitchen. Varanasi is a very old and busy place, and people come from all over the world to see it. When they get to us, they’re usually covered in a bit of dust and looking for a place to sit down. We try to keep the place organized, though it’s a lot of work given how many people come through. We don't have any fancy speeches about what we do. We just make sure the rooms are ready and the food is cooked. The staff here mostly comes from the nearby areas, so we know the city well. Sometimes we have to deal with the typical local problems, like the monkeys outside or the summer heat, but we just handle it. It’s a practical job. We wake up, we put on our uniforms, and we see what the day brings. There’s always a lot of tea being made and luggage being moved around. It’s just a regular hotel life in a very special city. We just keep our heads down and do the daily work required.
