Yadav Hotel Pahariya

Down in Varanasi, specifically in the Chaukaghat area, you will find us. We are located right in the Super Market section near Pahariya Mandi. This part of town is always moving, especially with the mandi being so close by. People come and go with their goods all day long. Our place is called Yadav Hotel Pahariya, but it’s really just a spot where people can sit for a minute and eat. We aren’t located in some quiet street; the Chaukaghat Chauk is right there, so the noise from the trucks and rickshaws is constant. We’ve gotten used to it after all these years. The shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside. We have some benches and tables that have seen better days. Every morning we open up and start the day by cleaning the floor and setting out the stuff. The heat in Varanasi can be something else, so we just try to keep the fans going as much as we can. It’s a lot of work running a place in a market area like this. You meet all kinds of people, from farmers to city folks just passing through. We don't have a menu with a hundred things on it. We just do what we do. It’s a practical business for practical people who just want a meal without any fuss or fancy talk. That’s just the way it works for us here.
