Our place is over in Vapi, specifically at Hakimji Super Market near the GIDC Char Rasta. It’s a pretty industrial area, as anyone who knows Vapi can tell you. Dealing with steel and pipes means there is always a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around. The market can get crowded with vehicles, especially when deliveries are coming in or going out. We spend most of the day keeping track of the stock. Steel isn't the cleanest thing to work with, so the floor usually has some dust or bits of metal on it. It’s a practical environment. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. Usually, someone is just standing near the entrance checking the manifests or looking at the pipe dimensions. The heat in the GIDC area can be something else in the summer, but we just keep the doors open and get on with it. It’s about getting the right materials to the right people without a lot of fuss. We've seen the area change over the years, but the core of the work stays the same. Pipes come in, they get sorted, and they head out to whatever site needs them. It’s a lot of physical labor and making sure the numbers on the paperwork match what’s on the truck. Not much room for anything else in a day’s work. There is always a truck idling nearby and the smell of industrial work in the air.
