Swastik Battery Industries

Our factory is out in Valsad GIDC, right behind the Via Hall on Plot No. 165/B/14. It’s a bit of a drive from the main town, but it’s where all the industrial action is. The air inside always has that faint metallic tang you get when you’re working with lead and chemicals all day. We have these long racks where the batteries sit for charging, and the hum of the electricity is the background music of our lives. It gets incredibly humid in this part of the country, so we’re usually sweating by ten in the morning. We don’t have an HR department or a marketing team; we just have a group of guys who know how to handle the heavy plates and the acid. Safety is something we just do because nobody wants to get burned or hurt. Sometimes the floor gets a bit slick, so we have to be careful where we step. We track everything on a big chalkboard near the main door because it’s easier than trying to use a computer with dirty hands. The trucks come in the afternoon to load up, and that’s usually the most chaotic part of the day. Once they leave, we tidy up a bit and prepare for the next round. It’s just honest work in a hot shed, making sure things are built solid so they don’t fail later on. We stay pretty busy and mostly keep to ourselves.
