Our factory is located at Plot No. 1709 in the 3rd Phase of the GIDC in Vapi. If you know Vapi, you know it’s a massive industrial hub, and being in the 3rd Phase means we are surrounded by all sorts of manufacturing plants. Allied Spares Auto Parts is where we spend our days making components for cars and trucks. It’s a loud environment with the sound of machines stamping metal and the hum of the assembly line going all day long. The air smells like oil and metal, which I guess you get used to after a few weeks. We don't have a fancy showroom here; it’s just the production floor and a small office where we handle the orders. Most of us have been working in this industry for years, so we don't need a lot of instructions to know what needs doing. We focus on getting the spare parts right so they actually fit when someone tries to use them. It’s a lot of repetition, but you have to be careful with the measurements. The Gujarat heat can be tough in the afternoons, but we have big fans that help a little bit. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about whatever is going on in town. It’s just a normal factory life where we work hard, look after the machines, and try to keep everything on schedule for our clients. It's just simple, hard work.
