Down in the G.I.D.C. Estate at Killa Pardi, things move at their own pace. Our place, Quality Gears, is located at C1/14D, and if you know this industrial area, you know it’s full of trucks and the constant hum of factories. We’ve been set up here for a long time, mostly focusing on making gears and similar parts. The workshop floor is almost always covered in a bit of grease, which is just how it goes when you’re working with this kind of machinery. We have some old machines that have been with us since the start and a few newer ones too. Every morning starts with a lot of noise as everything gets turned on. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, and your clothes are probably going to get stained if you hang around too long. We don’t really do much in the way of advertising. Most people who need us just know where we are or heard about us from someone else in the estate. We spend a lot of time double-checking teeth on the gears and making sure the metal is right. It’s repetitive work, but it needs to be done correctly. The weather in Pardi can be quite damp sometimes, which doesn't help with the rust, so we have to stay on top of that. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, day after day, without any fuss or corporate polish. It is hard work but it pays the bills.
