Oren Kitchen World

Our shop, Oren Kitchen World, is tucked away in Varun Complex. It is right across from the Reliance Super in the GIDC Housing Board Colony. We have units 44 and 45, so we have a bit more space than some of the other neighbors, but it still gets crowded when we get new stock in. Most of the day is spent showing people different handles, hinges, and cabinet finishes. It is funny how much time people can spend picking out a specific shade of grey for their kitchen drawers. We try to keep the displays clean, though fingerprints always end up on the glass by noon. Mahavir Nagar is a busy area, especially in the evenings when everyone is out doing their grocery shopping across the street. We have been here long enough that we know most of the other shopkeepers by their first names. It is not a huge operation, just us and a few helpers who handle the deliveries and the heavy lifting. Sometimes the air conditioner acts up during the peak of summer, but we make do with fans. We do not do fancy commercials or anything like that. Most folks find us because their neighbor got a new kitchen done and told them to come see us. It is a lot of talking and measuring and then re-measuring because you really do not want to get it wrong. We are usually here from morning until late. (249 words)
