Kritika Farmers Producer Company Limited

Out here in Chak Dharampur, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We are a group of farmers who decided to get together under the name Kritika Farmers Producer Company. Most of us have known each other for years, living around Vaishali. The office is basically at Mohn Pd. Chaudhari’s place, he’s the son of Raghunath Choudhary, and everyone in the village knows where that is. We aren't some corporate office with suits and ties. We are usually covered in dust or mud depending on what month it is. We talk about seeds, we talk about the price of things, and we try to help each other out when someone’s tractor is acting up. It’s tough being a farmer on your own, so we figured being a group makes more sense for getting supplies and selling what we grow. We don't have any flashy slogans. We just want to make sure our families are fed and the crops don't fail when the monsoon hits too hard or not enough. There is a lot of sitting around on plastic chairs talking through problems until we find a way to fix them. It’s just how it is in this part of Vaishali. We stay busy with the planting and the harvesting, and we don't really have time for much else. It is just plain work for us every single day.
